Reconciliation
Children preparing for the Sacraments First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Children in the second grade (and upper levels) in the Faith Formation Program and St. John Paul II Catholic School will use the “My Reconciliation Book” (Mi Libro De La Reconciliación) and “My Mass Book” (Mi Libro De La Misa”) from Harcourt Publishers. Parents are encouraged to attend the Parent Session, attend weekend mass and work at home with their child.
Preparation process includes:
- 2 year Preparation Program (2 Monthly Classes, September through May).
- Parent orientation.
- Parent and Child workshop.
- Children’s Interview and Practice.
- Mass Attendance.
Children preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Children receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation during the Advent season onthier completion of the 2nd year program. It is the custom of St. John Paul II Faith Formation Program to focus on the first half of the school year preparing for First Reconciliation and the second half of the year focuses on First Eucharist. Due to the changing norms we offer First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Program at all grade levels.
