Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments, in this sacrament candidates receive the Holy Spirit and become adult members of the Catholic Church.
Students who are between 14-17 years old are eligible to participate in the Confirmation Program.
Since students this age are mature enough to make their own decision about receiving this sacrament, the students are responsible for their own work, independent of their parents. However, parents are encouraged to support their child and be present through the preparation process and attend Mass on the weekend.
Preparation begins in the Fall. Students, during their Confirmation Preparation will firm up their knowledge of the Creed and the Sacraments.
Preparation Process includes:
2 Year Preparation Program (2 sessions a month on Wednesday evening, September through May, 5:15-7:15 p.m. Timeframe includes Mass at 6:30 p.m. at St. Helen Church).
First year fee: $100 per student.
Second year fee: $200 per student (includes retreat).
Minimum age to be confirmed is 16 years old.
