A Eucharistic Ministry candidate obtains approval from the pastor of the parish. The St. John Paul II ministers distribution of Holy Communion as well as prayer the first Wednesday of the month starting at 9 a.m. for about one hour to all Catholic patients in the hospital. As volunteers we must complete an application packet, provide a health record; TB testing, immunization record and also a criminal background check.
If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, you may contact Alvina Kavanagh at 672-8335 for more information. Training will be provided.
You must be over 21 years of age for this ministry.
