Religious Education Program
Our Religious Education Program: serves children in grades 1 through 9. Classes of no more than 22 children or less; and are taught by volunteer catechist with a volunteer aide. The catechists are trained during the summer months and meet with the Director of Religious Education regularly. Classes are bi-weekly from September through May from 8:30 am to 10:20am at the St. Helen site. While the children attend classes parents are encouraged to gather in the school cafeteria for hospitality and conversation. Families are also invited to attend mass before or after classes;8:30 a.m. at the St. Helen site in Spanish, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Helen site in English and 11:30 a.m. St. Alexander site in Spanish.
Curriculum: ‘Blest Are We”/ “Bendicidos”: Here the young person (child) learns about the Catholic faith in its beliefs, Liturgy & Sacraments, Morality and Prayer. The text has both classroom and family components. Parents are the first teacher of the faith to their children and we the Church are an extension of those teachings.
Grades 1 through 9 are offer monolingual and we also offer grades 2 through 5 in Spanish.
